STOP! NSW Schools Dept ED: Locking Children With Autism In ‘Sensory Rooms’ As Human Cages! – NSW Department of Education

ABC Health: Katerina Ferekos raised concerns her son Yianni was locked in a room at Penshurst West Public School. (ABC News: Josh Bavas). The Education Department is investigating Penshurst West Public School.

Same NSW Education Department – The State Apologied (Admission of Guilt) for the experience who violated my Autistic Child who had her head twisted by Staff Violating Stephanie’s UNCRC Human Rights. (Gardeners Road Public School – Nic Accaria, Debbie Hume & Kim Sheen) – http://chng.it/PLkMd9bv

Unfortunately its a National issue amongst Autism support units. The Department of Education really needs to act! Our children are not second class citizens.

Children with any Disability have a right to a proper education, safety & well-being.

  • 4

ShareTweetEffie Ferekos1 day agoI am utterly disgusted in what your teachers do behind closed doors to the kids that have special needs. These staff should be terminated straight away.
This is not in their training. This is torture to the young vulnerable child.
Unacceptable behaviour by the so called professionals.
They should not be allowed near-children.
What a joke these people have done their working with children certificate and are left to lock up the most vulnerable!!
Utter disgrace

The teachers and aids need to learn and be educated on how to deal with each child and support them not just lock them up to keep the child quiet. It’s abuse. I support this petition 100%.
